CIII · NEW SINGLE『輪郭』2012.12.19

"Whaat, a new entry in less than 24 hours?!"

Yes, since I just saw the news (woke up a bit late..) and I just got struck by euforia, why? Because of a release date. As I've mentioned before DIR EN GREY is releasing a new single this winter called 『輪郭』("RINKAKU") meaning "outlines" or "contour". I don't know anything more, and I guess nobody does except DIR EN GREY and their crew. And that I'm certain that Tue Madsen will be in charge of the mixing just as he did for "DUM SPIRO SPERO" and the re-mastering of "UROBOROS". That man is a God among men, I've never in my entry life heard any better mixing than what he does. Not to mention that he's not genre bound like some are, he seems to be able to mix every genre there is. And when DIR EN GREY tells you that this will be something completely new, you know it's beyond your imagination before you actually hear it.

I still remember how IMPOSSIBLE it was to be able to make something better than "UROBOROS", and then "DUM SPIRO SPERO" came and blew my mind, not to mention the re-mastering of "UROBOROS" which made that album even better than it was. And as soon as it's possible, I'll be pre-ordering the deluxe-limited edition of the single.  Which contains recordings from their symphonic live that they had. Me (and Patrik) have been dying to hear anything from this one-of-a-kind live show when they had rearrange all the DUM SPIRO SPERO songs into symphonic versions. And Finally that dream will come true. I am so excited about the new single that I can barely sit still, I'll probably have to go and do some karate kicks in the air or something just to calm the fuck down.

RELEASE 2012.12.19

The information below is directly taken from DIR EN GREY's official home page, containing all information released about the single.

I can't be the only one that's this excited, right?

Today I'm proud to announce that I got my first sponsorship. I've seen a lot of blogs with less readers than me that has banners, but I haven't been searching for sponsors as I assume some have. (I even know some people who has banners to sites because it "looks cool" lol). But I got contacted by Shoppingholics, and they asked if I wanted to work with them and it was just in time. Since I felt that I needed to get new lenses so now I got a sponsorship from them. And I'm hoping for a happy relationship between us.
(If you're interested in working with me there's a contact link on the top of my blog)

And now to my review!
I will try to explain how my "rating system" works, I decided to have three unique categories and then a final verdict. Enlargement is pretty self-explanatory, it's just how much more they enlarge my eyes. Design includes both the pattern and color of the lenses. (Or otherwise stated) and comfort is pretty self-explanatory too, just how nice they feel. The numbers range from 1 - 5.
And Overall is what the final score will be, but have in mind that this is a personal review and judge me and my only. So the review (maybe except for the enlargement) is very subjective. Keep that in mind.
(1 = Very poor, 2 = poor, 3 = OK, 4 = Good, 5 = Very good)

The picture to the right is taken from their site, so it's the stock photo. Just to give you a reference from stock photos and the actual product that you receive.

Well, it's not about the packaging but I'm still gonna write a few words about it. Everything was nicely wrapped in bubble wrap inside a padded envelope. Very neat.

And inside there was a lens case, a box with the lenses and a little "Thank You"-card.

I tried to get as accurate as possible, so the pictures has no editing. (Except for me trying to adjust the white balance to make the pictures more accurate)

Design · 4/5 | Enlargement · 1/5 | Comfort · 4/5 | Overall · 3/5

Design · I really liked the design for the lenses, the color are very bright and they really pop, just as I like it.
Enlargement · Very weak, almost the same size as my own eyes. I prefer bigger eyes.
Comfort · Soft and very lean, no "edges" or anything that might irritate the eyes.

And a close up.

And because this is my first review I will also add their header in the entry.
And there's a discount on lenses at http://shoppingholics.com for my blog readers! Just check the sidebar of my blog and you get a discount. So invite all your friends to my blog to make me and yourselves happy, haha!

Take care!

CI · サヨナラ

If you haven't noticed, I passed 100 posts on my blog a few entries ago. And I decided to change the titles with the number of the entry and a little title to make it easier to navigate (if somebody would do that for some reason). And I wanted to make a little "mysterious" entry but I guess that won't work since my location probably is known to most of you already, haha.

chillaxin', maxin' all cool.

Been reading my favorite book as well, I always bring it when I travel. It's also my guide to life.
Does anybody know which book it might be?

Yes, I went to Finland. The flight was very smooth, I always travel straight. I don't like all the extra work a plane change includes, and there's never that much cheaper to make it worth the trouble. I've been here for almost two weeks now. And this is just the "first part" of my stay. I really need to step it up.

But the first week has been very nice, mostly staying at home. But that's what I like. Just chillin'.

This is probably one of the most depressing things I've ever seen.

And as always there'll be a lot of food pictures. I had a very nice bagel!

Aaaww yeaaah, some beef and criss cross potatoes.

Viivi's special deluxe garlic bread creation.

And on Wednesday we met up with SiniAlex and Tuomas and went on a iMac hunt. Sini wanted one so we decided to go around town and to God knows where to find one. But as always I only took pictures of the food. (Food > friends)
We went to Fonda del Sol and I had a double cheese burger. It was a really neat burger, very juicy and 100% angus beef as it should be. The home made french fries was great too. And there was coleslaw but that was a fucking disaster. It was pretty much just cabbage. There was no "slaw" in it. But besides that it was fantastic.

While waiting for the food I spent my time thinking about their brand name and interior design. Since I don't speak Finnish I get a lot of time for myself lol. I still wonder why it's called "Fonda del Sol" since that gives me a Mexican feeling, and the place was a beef/burger place. Not to mention that they had a bull for their "mascot" which gives me a very south American feeling, felt more like Texas than Mexico. Maybe somebody has an answer for that? Haha.

Mountain fucking dew.

I also went to Stockmann to do some necessary shopping, in this case underwear. I bought a pair of plain black underwear from Tiger of Sweden, one of my favorite brands (when it comes to underwear). It's not super expensive (I'd love to try BACKBONE THE BASIS or Chrome Hearts underwear, but they're around ten times as expensive lol).

And know I'm going to give you an insight in my underwear philosophy, or guide if you will. I always buy plain black, pin stripes at the most for my underwear. Since I'm not a fan of "silly" underwear. And I always by black for several reasons, they're black, I like black. It gives a neutral color as well as the color rarely fades/looks old. And the same goes for socks, I always buy black, thin socks. It's extra important when it comes to socks since if you have all the same you can always "pick another one" if one would get lost for some reason. Which makes it easier. And they look less dirty since they're black. I don't want to have those terrible white/dirty tube socks. And the thin ones usually feels good over time too. Tube socks/thicker socks usually feel harder after a few washes so that's why I stopped using them several years ago.

And for underwear I recommend buying some "fancier" brands, Tiger of Sweden, Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabbana, Hugo Boss etc. Why? Because they're better. Not only do they look better but the material is of higher quality. Cheaper underwear tends to get stiff after a few washes, and over time the stretch in the fabric greatly loosens and they don't fit properly. While the more expensive ones feels like almost new every time, they don't get stiff or anything after you've been washing them and the stretch in the fabric holdes a thousand times better. Good underwear is important, at least to me. So instead of getting a pair of 5-10€ underwear, go for the ones that are around 20-40€ because it's worth it in the end.
And remember that there might be some "mid-fancy" brands, like Björn Borg, but they're shit as well in my opinion. Go for the ones that a related to bigger 'fashion houses'. That's where the good stuff is.

And if you would be hooking up with people, you don't want to stand there in your H&M Spider-man undies.

And now back to food! The burger I had before was so good I had to make burgers at home haha.

And now some fancy pictures of me.

My hair is a bit different, or well, maybe not that much but I'm growing one side of my hair anyway.

For some reason the images are not the same size as I scaled them in, so now the entry looks like shit.

Shoes: Roshell | Pants: Cheap Monday | Shirt: Deepstyle  Jacket:  Vintage | Accessories: Glitter, Overseas

That was all from the first week, and I will be staying here for a while so I'm going to be frequent and update as much as I can, I have a few topics that I want to do as well. Some new items that I've got and also a sponshorship..! So stay tuned!

UppCon: XII
~part three & after math~

The largest convention for East Asian popculture in Scandinavia

And it all came to an end, the final day was here. There wasn't much to do the last day, the weather was gray and it rained pretty heavily, no, very heavy. It was insane. Even though we only lived fifth teen minutes away from the con me, Hyo and Rebecca decided to take a cab instead. So we arrived and went to get breakfast. I went to collect the money I got from items that I sold, manage to get a pretty decent amount of money actually. ~300€ for items that I don't even use. So that was one of the high lights. Too bad I missed out on a issue of "音楽と人" featuring 京 of DIR EN GREY. (I didn't have money on me, and went to get it and then it was gone, so that sucked.) And around noon it was time for the concluding ceremony, it was actually very emotional and I saw a lot of tears. Since this was an end of an era.

I though it was a bit touching as well, since it was the end of something so big.

Good bye UppCon, I owe you a lot.

Since I was wasn't alone I had to eat even though I wasn't feeling hungry. Regretting it till this very day!

Probably the worst sushi I've ever had.

I (finally) got my other skull ring back from Sofia, she had that ring at her place for over 1,5 years lol. I was really happy and surprised she brought it with her. I have no idea how I manage to forget it, it was my favorite ring lol, but now it's back!

There was some complications with the place that I was staying at, so I contacted Emi and asked if I could stay at her place and it was alright. (Thank you!) SagaEmilia, the cookie monster (from a previous entry) and some other person was staying there too. So it was a bit cramped but it worked out. (Overwhelmed by all the hospitality haha) And she lived in a very nice neighbourhood too!

Women cooking and doing the dishes \o/

A proper meal for a man.

Me and Emi went to do some shopping, the weirdest part was that nobody got drunk even though we bought a shitload. We drank it all. Weird.

Nothing gay about having some wine and watching 'Mean Girls'.

And since we were a bit tipsy we thought it might be a great idea to cook some. It ended up with "Hm.. Something smells weird, like burnt. .. Oh shi-" and ta-dah! Delicious spring rolls. Well done.

Proper size.

Robban & Jocke.

"Orkar inteeee"

I was supposed to go home today, but since there was some "complications" all trains between Uppsala and Stockholm was delayed, and they didn't know for how long. And when they "don't know what happened" it means that somebody killed him/her self. Or an accident of some kind, dead people anyway.
So I had to postpone my trip home so we went to get some wine instead.

Long time no see, Stockholm!
And then eventually the day when I had to get home came, and I had a three hour wait in Stockholm for my train.

So I decided to get in touch with an old friend, so after five years I finally met my favorite hipster Ella again. It's weird how I let things go that long, we talked for almost an hour before I had to go. She's one of the few persons that I still talk to pretty regular and have done for a couple of years. So it was great to finally see her again. We just sat on a bench and time flew. I hope it won't take that long time until the next time.

I also noticed that the trains changed their interior design, before they had the outlets on the walls, but now they decided to put them in between the seats instead. I have no idea why they changed it since nobody could see them on the wall, I guess this was "cooler". But it's not so effective, as you can see.
No charging for me!

This concludes my final visit to UppCon. I've me a lot of old friends and even manage to make new ones, it was a great experience to be able to be a part of something like this. Especially since it ment a lot to me over the years. And I have to say that I really like Uppsala, it's a beautiful city. Maybe I can return there in the future someday. And thanks to UppCon for all these years, it has been a pleasure.
